Yesterday, we were given a view of the 3.2 version of Honkai: Star Rail. Not only does it give us a look at Castorice and Anaxa, as well as what is instore for the anniversary celebration. We were given several looks at new areas, the new banners, and quality of life updates.

Banners

Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.2 — Credit: Hoyoverse, Honkai: Star Rail

The follower of Thanatos, Castorice, will arrive with her light cone in Phase 1. Fugue, Jiaoqiu, and Acheron and their lightcones will be joining her in a triple feature. Pela, Lynx, and Gallagher are the 4-star characters that will be given a rate-up with the banners. These banners will be available from April 8th to April 30th, 2025.

Castorice is a 5-Star Quantum attacker following the (new) Rememberance Path. Who can summon a Dragon as a memosprite? Yeah, okay, she is officially the best character so far…

In Phase 2, Anaxa will arrive with Dr Ratio as the boosted 5-Stars. Anaxa is a new Wind 5-Star character following The Erudition Path. Dan Heng, Serval, and Moze will be arriving as the boosted 4-Stars. The Phase 2 banners will be running from April 30th to May 20th, 2025.

Free Goodies

Ruan Mei and Luocha will be free from 3.2 to 3.8. However, you can select only one. Ruan Mei is a 5-Star Ice Amplifier following the Path of Harmony. Luocha is a 5-star Imaginary Sustain character following the Path of Abundance. Both can have major effects on a party, and you should choose them how they will help, or if you will like them.

There is no really good argument, its clear that Ruan Mei will always be the best option over Luocha, but I won’t just say Ruan Mei is the only best option, Luocha with his Cycle of Life field, it can heal allies when they attack. However, an E1 Luocha is nice since it will give a 20% buff to ATK while his Cycle of Life Field is active. Since I’ve had him, he has never left my team, very rarely anyway. But with Ruan Mei, her E1 will just skyrocket her use even more, while her ultimate is deployed, the DMG dealt by allies ignores 20% of the target’s DEF.

Again, no argument, but just like always, just choose the character you want either its based on meta or just likes.

We head into Honkai: Star Rail’s 2nd anniversary, where HoYo has a bunch of goodies for their Trailblazers, as we get 30 free premium summons and 10 fuel. One of which we can choose someone who will give us an in-game message, and the rewards.

New progression

There will be a new Trailblaze Mission on Amphoreus as well as new areas on Amphoreus - 'Demigod Council', Dawncloud, and 'Dragonbone City', Styxia.

Planar Fissure event for Planar Ornaments triple drops.
Realm of Strange event for Relic triple drops
Star Rail WORLD is a business simulation event with chibi character designs to celebrate Star Rail's second anniversary. You need to employ strategic management plans to generate funds, elevate the venue's tiers, and recruit trusted companions for support. As resources grow, new exhibition booths and Assistants will be unlocked. Rewards include the new 4-Star Erudition path Light Cone 'The Great Cosmic Entrepreneur', Self-Modeling Resin, Stellar Jade, Tracks of Destiny, and weapon level-up materials.
Seal Slammers is a mini-game event in Amphoreus that can be played against others in multiplayer. You need to aim and fling seals at your opponent to win battles. This event will still be available after version 3.2 ends. Rewards include Bubbles the Chimera pet, Self-Modeling Resin, Stellar Jade, Tracks of Destiny, and weapon level-up materials.
Morning Starlight is a combat event on Herta Space Station. It has similar mechanics to the 'Stellar Flare' and 'Stellar Shimmer' events. As always, trial characters are available. Rewards include Stellar Jade, Tracks of Destiny, Relic Remains, and weapon level-up materials.

QoL Updates

Oneiric Shard top-up bonuses refreshed.
Customizable non-boosted 5-Stars on limited-time Banners with Seele, Blade, and Fu Xuan coming in the updated permanent banner in version 3.2.
Exchange Shop for 5-Star characters and Light Cones (use Gold Companion Spirit Tokens as currency).
Silver Companion Spirit Tokens will be rewarded when you pull a 5-Star character you already have all of the Eidolons for. You get one Gold Companion Spirit Token for every two Silver Companion Spirit Tokens you exchange.
Auto-Salvage feature for 4-Star and lower artifacts.
Smart Discard feature for 5-Star artifacts.
Birthday Cake design updated after 26th April.

A major update is coming as Silver Wolf, Blade, Kafka, and Jingliu are getting buffs in 3.4! This is great news as Hoyo is trying to counter the power creep, and hopefully, this will just be the first of the waves of characters that are getting buffed. Personally, I am happy to see Kafka and Jingliu getting buff, as, especially in the case of Jingliu, it was beginning to feel like a waste of money. Kafka isn’t spectacular anymore, but still holds up her own. BUT happy to see the first group getting a buff. There is also another free, limited 5-Star Character up for grabs down the line, who and when are still unknown.

Conclusion

There are a lot of goodies coming, and I am happy to see them all. There has been a lot of negativity going around the community since the live stream, but hopefully, with the updates and the future, things will change. I don’t follow the negativity, but I mostly found out about it on Reddit. Regardless, it’s the same as always: play the game the way you want and don’t listen to the negative nancies.
